We've all been embarrassed by sweating profusely one time or the other but if you're getting worried because you always have to deal with it even if the situation and environmental conditions are perfectly normal, it's time for you to cure excessive sweating. The first thing that you have to do is determine which areas of your body you sweat the most. Is it your armpits, your palms or your feet? Other people sweat all over their body. There are some things that you can do to control this kind of situation. For some people, applying an antiperspirant after every shower does the trick. Antiperspirants are mainly used to decrease underarm sweating and odor development, they usually contain aluminum metals salts like aluminum chloride. The aluminum ions are taken into the cells and water passes in with them. As water flows in, the cells also swell and they squeeze the ducts closed to that sweat can't get out. You may need to reapply throughout the day to keep your antiperspirant effective. Do not confuse an antiperspirant with a deodorant because they are entirely different. An antiperspirant prevents you from sweating profusely while the latter masks the odor. There are available brands out there that both combine an antiperspirant and a deodorant.

If you want to help cure excessive sweating, drink plenty of water and make sure you wear proper clothing. Contrary to what other people believe that the more you drink water, the more you sweat. This is completely wrong! Water has actually the opposite effect because it maintains your body temperature. If you do not drink enough water, your body temperature will rise and it will react by sweating. Don't wear clothes that are made from synthetic fibers because they tend to trap body heat and for some reason, they emit an awful smell when we sweat. In addition to that, stay away from spicy foods and see if your condition improves.

If none of the simple cures work, you can opt for a treatment that involves the removal of your sweat glands. This is one good way to cure excessive sweating but it can only be used in small areas like the underarms. This surgical procedure will have the apocrine sweat glands to be removed and it will dramatically improve odor problems in the armpit region. This method is popular in Asia. Make sure you exhausted all possible solutions before you resort to this kind of treatment.
